Hmm where to start!! Let me check my spread sheet! lol

1. be patient let the glue dry!

2. Jigsaw upside down plus dull blade = cracked frame every time! I've launched one before! lol

3. Clamp your Pinewood Derby PRO Driller Tool, unless you want to learn how to use wax paper to align your rears!

4. making your own slot in your DFW Axles sucks.

5. Triple check top and bottom before drilling canted holes!

6. oh and when you cut out the space between the rear axles you'll loose alignment!

Whats yours?

My fastest cars are built the day before they have to go out for proxy racing.

Spending too much time slows them down.

Don't procrastinate!

GravityX... Your fastest cars are built the day before they are sent out, but don't procrastonate?! You must be a good builder to get all that done in 1 day

CA glue is great for sealing balsa. It will also "drip seal" your favorite nicest pair of blue jeans if you are stupid enough to be wearing them while building the car.

Spade drill bits - in PWD their only purpose is destroying a piece of wood and all the work you've put into it.

A surefire way to destroy a perfectly good wheel is to attach it before relieving the axle hole.

HAHA I learned NOT to use the fireplace to warm up a street rod car...Ya it got WAY to hot and melted the back half of my car...sometimes I wonder what it is that I am doing???

I remember you telling me the story and showing me that picture. Sad, but funny at the same time.

I do procrastinate... that's why I was saying don't procrastinate. I could probably find some more speed if I took a little more time with the cars.

I'm trying to change things for the upcoming 3/29 race, no procrastination, as I'll be getting some cars ready this weekend. I hope! New toys, new preps and new ideas to play with to find that speed! Fingers are crossed!

Here is a new one I just learned. As tempting as it might be, dont use a flat head screwdriver between the car and wheel to get your axles out.

Let's see!

Krylon paint hates the cold! Dull router bits like to eat cars, and dogs like to eat them too! Don't let your kid carry his car in his hand at Districts, get him a nice box from DD4H. He will drop it right before handing it in and things will break! Getting paint on the deck makes wives angry. Angry wives don't let you order PWD stuff and women don't think PWD is an essential part of the budget. Silly wives!

Chief did use the insurance money and built a newer (and beautiful car), the "Flame Retardant".
