Okay I have shipping boxes done for my cars (legend/small boxes) I have a oil and graphite car to ship, so I need to but both cars in a larger box with more protection/bubble wrap. So what size box is best
so they can ship any trophies etc if you happen to win?
Also, for the graphite car-should I include graphite (dd4h/graphite) or just let those guys add the graphite they have-if car makes any finals?
Any other tips are appreciated as this is my first time shipping to MA for the scout races.

I am sending in my first car this year as well, but i would assume that any proxy car shipped would need to be ready to race out of the box. i dont think the race crew would have time or be responsible for adding graphite, i wouldnt expect them to be adding any lubrication to my car.

Other vets could chime in and correct me if i am wrong , just my assumptions , thats all

If you are running in graphite classes, they say that all cars will be re-graphite if you move on to finals.

This does two things:
1. It keeps the times up on the cars and everyone has the same advantage being proxy or live.

2. If you run "ghost" graphite and actually have oil in that bore, it will sludge you up, and you will have a snail car.... again... keeps things at a level playing field...

Last year, I sent a box with a total of four cars, three for nationals, and one for MA. I doubled the size of the box needed in case the boy I helped got a trophy. He had enough swag in the box when it was returned that he had some room left, but only enough to fit a trophy.

Last I recalled, regraphiting was optional, and you had to include instructions if you wanted them to do it for your proxy car in the finals. Am I misremembering?

Yes that is true. I was asked by a racer that proxy raced last year to re-graphite their car if it made the finals and it did, so I did. I don't like the stuff! With that said, I will not be doing this again... so no requests please. /images/boards/smilies/tongue.gif
