Man of the Mountain Format Info?

So this suddenly became relevant to me. Can someone explain or point me to the format description of the MOTM series?

The main thing I'm wondering is if points carry into the final race at all or do the points just determine who goes to the final race?

I need to decide if I should bring out my fast cars or hold on to them until the final race.

I also have a MOTM question:
I did not enter a BASX car in the August race.
Does that mean that I should give up on that class? I.e. if points are awarded and accumulated based on 3 preliminary races, and if I enter a BASX car only in the last two, the chances are greatly reduced that I could ever qualify in the top 15, unless my BASX car did extraordinarily well in the last two races, which is unlikely.

Am I correct in this assumption?

You can make it in with one win probably or 2 good races.

The format will be the top 15 builders qualify for the race. There will be a semi final round consisting of racers 5 to 15. The top 4 in the semi final round move on to a finals round against the top 4 builders. The top 4 builders in the finals will move to the Championship round where the Man of the Mountain will be determined.

Never give up! All you need is one big month to qualify.

Thanks. That helps. Couple more questions:

1. There are no double or triple points months during the "regular season", correct?
2. Since the builder qualifies (as opposed to the car), the builder can introduce completely new cars in the last race event, correct?
