First I want to say the live feed was great. Second I want to congratulate all the winners yeaterday. Third I want to apologize for the showing yesterday. I have no clue what happened and it won't happen again. Not sure if I will be making the April race. I just can't get over how bad my cars ran yesterday. I know we all go through some sort of rough patches but dang it was like all the wheels fell off them yesterday.

Again Live Feed Great
To All The Winners Congrats

AC, I had a rough showing too so I know where you are coming from. Don't let it get you down man, you're a good builder. Send one in this month!

My car still wasn't that fast, but it was a lot faster than last month. I think I had about a .05 increase in speed. For some reason the times got slower each time it raced. I think I may not have had enough drift.

0.05 second increase in speed (going from say a 3.05 to a 3.00) is a huge gain! You found something that wasnt working there.

Resullivan, if your times got slower and your car wasnt doing the Shakira hips dont like dance, I would say you need less steer to increase speed, not more. More would put you into the rail sooner thus slowing you down more.

Went from 3.06 to 3.01. What was frustrating is the first 2 runs were 3.00X but then the last two were like 3.03 and 3.01.

This is a little late but that was the best race I have ever seen in all classes. You new guys can't get discouraged! Remember it is about learning the techniques yourself and slow and steady improvement. The worst thing a new guy can do is get too much help from an established racer. Sooner or later you have to be able to do things on your own and if an experienced racer sets your bar too high, too fast it is devastating. Remember, you are competing with yourself. There is no reason for getting embarrassed over a race. Regroup and recollect and improve next race. Thoroughly enjoy the hobby and the fun of improvement and don't put too much pressure on yourself. That pressure will come quickly enough when you get to the top.

I can't thank the guys and gals that helped me with the race enough. There is NO WAY this can be done without a good race team. Joel, KC, Shane, Keith, Kinser, Skippy, Emily, Mary and my beautiful wife did an incredible job all day long. It was the cleanest race I have ever been involved in or seen. Incredible group of people. All of you make this the best racing venue ever.

It only gets better. The series battles are off the chart.

John that was an awesome day.. I enjoyed every minute of it ... Even the rough spots we had were still fun... It as you said can only get better... Congrats to you and the Crew that helps you race after race... You Guys ROCK!!! .. Glad that your alright and back up and around..

Great race all! Thanks to John and the crew for another great race and the new feed is excellent! I am still hoping that finish line cam gets up and running as well in the future...that would be kinda cool!

Take a nice break all and in a week or so start getting ready for April!

You can't get discouraged Larry. You found something that didn't work. I've been there and done that. If it was your kid, I'm sure you'd tell him to get back out there. When a kid gets a bad bounce and the ball pops up and hits him in the face, the first thing he needs to do is get back out there ASAP and field some more grounders or he'll start to fear the ball. Race against yourself have a good time.

This might sound harsh but I've found it to be true and I use it: Quitters never win and winners never quit! /images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif

+1 many times over!

John and those that helped put on such a great race, THANKS a 100 fold!

As John said, don't get discouraged guys, regroup and get back on the track next month. May we all find some speed in our preps.

As most of us here are parents, don't you remember babies have to learn to crawl before they can walk.

AC you are far from alone. My cars sucked but I am experimenting some. I have 2 races of serious wiggles in my SS after having no wiggles at all. I thought I had it figured out but not even close. My street pro I did not see run and have not viewed the video so not sure on it what happened to it.

I do get discouraged but I am not going to quit. I may go back to a pretty standard build to make sure I have not completely lost it. The car I am messing with has never been that fast but was very stable. I thought it would be a good test car but am not sure now. I may retire it and start with a new one.

I did not watch the whole race but it did seem to go very smooth when I was watching. The live crew is awesome.

I look at the whole thing like this. In Pack Racing I(we) am a big fish in a small pond. In league racing I am a small fish in a big pond. Maybe my son needs to help more with the league cars. He always finishes his races way better than I do.

After further thinking and encouraging words from everybody I will be back next month. I was very frustrated after watching the race and seeing the performance of 2 of my cars. For now on I will be racing against myself and my previous times. Thanks everyone for the support and that is what makes this forum and league as great at as it is.

Honestly that's all you can do. You can only control you car, your build , your prep and your tuning. Other than that the track decides the rest. On the same note, you can't control other racers. If you keep building off your own time rather than worrying about beating the next guy you'll never be fast. My goal for this next race is also a 2.98X. I'm close so hoping some fine tuning can get me there.

Worst part about the whole race was having nightmares that night of John saying Kinser over and over and over...

Glad to hear you changed your mind.

When I first started I made a hit list of the racers I wanted to beat. One by one I crossed names off the list. Soon there where a few builders that broke away from the pack and put more distance on me. The list went away and I started racing myself. Small improvements over time add up. This journey is fun.

I made a list racers I wanted to try and catch. But, for now I race myself until I get my cars running like they should. Then and maybe then I will make list. I really want to Thank Everybody for great words of encouragement. You all are great friends and competiors.
