Micro vibrations

I'm not sure about micro vibrations but vibration in general is bad. One of the big speed increases of the V3 was removing the outer ribs to eliminate vibration. Now I've messed with this a little. Removing all vibration from the car and it had no speed increase. The main reason why I think that is, is by the time the vibration makes it to the car or body it is already to late the damage is done. Now if you can remove all the vibration from the cause then you might find something. However I don't think it would over come the weight disadvantage the wheels would have by trying to dampen them. Just my thoughts about it.

Speaking of vibrations, does anyone know if the NPWDRL track is dampened?

I know some people put Dynamat or Peel & Seal under their track to help damp the bad vibes. Seems like that would keep the noisy cars from affecting the quieter cars if such a thing even happens.

I'm not sure how much I believe the whole micro vibration theory. I know V3's are faster than V2's. I saw that with my own eyes but since my track is wood I can't observe the vibrations of an aluminum track firsthand.

Micro-vibration... I say phooey! Is less than 3 seconds enough time for these micro annoyances to effect times? This may have happened with old school wheels and axles. If indeed these vibrations are taking place it would have to initiate between the wheel-to-track surface and maybe axle-to-bore. But as QT said, the V3 Cheetahs have the ribbing removed lessening the chances of inducing "micro-vibrations". We are also polishing wheel bores and axles to help reduce if not eliminate these gremlins. And with wheels being lathe cut it would further reduce any imbalances to initiate this anomaly.

I'm with Bracketracer, I'm not sure how much I believe in this whole theory. Although.... I have seen and experienced macro-vibrations.

Just my 2 cents.

if you really want to study the vibration effect you just need to talk to your wife or girlfriend they have it figured out

Just don't ask about Fenders on DT. Someone there knows they don't work. Do a little searching and you can read all about it. Read the latest on axle bending, good reading! If you like to tune and tune and tune.

There is some really awesome guys over there, who do a lot for their Packs! There is just a couple that take the fun out of it.

Hey John,

Thanks for the welcome and looking out for the new guy. It takes quite a bit to offend me. The other fellas have been treating me with kid gloves considering my stumbling around here.

I must admit that the censorship at DT was ridiculous. LOL. I stumbled around on their forum and got a dressing down.

From what I can tell people are free to speak their mind here, and that shows me a complete lack of fear on your part, and a clear indicator of who the fastest gun really is.

Thanks for this forum and your dedication.
