Hey all, this my first post thanks for all the amazing information I have learned so much just reading over the past year. This is my second year of pinewood derby as a parent and I have got the bug BAD. My wolf came in 1st in his pack second in his age group at district and third overall... we had already beat the second place car and I’m pretty sure I didn’t have enough steer in the car and got back wiggles track was extremely rough.
My son wants to build a car for mid America so I ordered a silver bullet hoping it arrives this week. We are going to attempt a thin body based off of bulldogs video.
My question is with the more open rules of mid America what is is the best option for wheelbase and what wheels are best to run.
I have never messed with oil as our rules don’t allow it but I pre registered for scout oil class hope it’s not a mistake I know mid America is a much larger race than anything I have seen and assume purchasing wheels and axles is our best chance at having a competitive car.
