Mid-America Pinewood Derby - 2012 - Get Ready

That is an EXCELLENT Idea... I think something like that would work out very well if we can coordinate something with John - to have things shipped to Jason "Exorcist3d" - Or if there is a car that a Builder would want to make seperate car just for this Event.

Jason is correct we had to carefully choose a date that lined up in between a bunch of other Council Activities, along with other factors such as the facilities... etc.

From a local perspective many super cool things are in the works again for this year as we will have a Radio Station be having a Remote Broadcast at the event - prior to the event we will have several segments on local TV Shows about the event.

I truly hope some of you are able to be a part of things this year - as it will be an excellent venue to "show-off" what builders of your caliber can do in making Pinewood Derby Cars -- it should promote league activity as well as inspire many a Dad.

anyone know if NPWDRL points will be awarded for this race?? might be a good chance for us slow guys to pad the points race a bit.

I was just looking at the rules, could be a problem with the 5.0 oz rule. I think all Pro League rules say 5.0 oz on a 1/10 scale which on a 1/100 scale would be 5.04 oz (under .05 rounds to .0)

It's not in the schedule. I won't be racing two races in two consecutive weeks without a chance to retune and/or reprep.

We actually use grams and measure 143.4 which should allow your 5.04 to be ok -- we have just found grams is a little more accurate than OZ's -- sorry to hear Kinzer -- hopefully our schedule will line up better next year... or maybe you might want to have a car just for this event? Just a thought -- I know the local Dad's and Scout would be able to learn a lot from watching cars likes yours race... Or if by some strange chance you feel like making a trip to Omaha you are very welcome as it would be a fun day of racing.
