The dog days of summer are here and it's a bit slow for Corvids liking so I rummaged up some relics, Icemans pals Shark car pics inspired me to share another part of my past- a duo of Sharkdogs!!!

Black shark was an '85er and the gold shark was built in '87. Blackie came in second at districts(Royal Rangers version of a Council race) and olden goldie was around 11th.

Life was so much simpler back then, same with building cars. Shoot, the car that beat blackie was a spitten image of a Mills Craft car. Aerodynamics didn't separate the BigDogs from the pups back then- that's for sure.

Once again, stunning photography my friend.

The way you play with light, shadow and composition is very cutting edge.

If that big old dowel weren't in the way, that lean one looks like it would get some decent aero.

Just how many of these dogs do you have locked away in the vault?

I want to get a lean one going too!

That lean one was my pops idea of a "rail car", by todays standards there's enough wood in that car to build an entire fleet. Last I counted the vault had just over 50, not all are race ready and some I am too ashamed of to share, I at least wouldn't put my name on them if I ever did post a pic.

I think my pictures look pretty good for using a sweet potato for a camera/images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif Hey, I at least managed to clear the bread crumbs and extra debris from the pic- that has to count for something lol

I have a VHS that contains cars from the 80's that I need to digitally transfer. Someday I plan to make a few short video clips of the highlights. You're gonna love that early 1980s camera quality when ya see it. If I'm feeling brave enough I'll post a video of me sporting my proud mullet

Joe, I do have to admit I've never see anyone use fruit the way Corvid does!!! LOL

Thanks Shawn,
Rangers when I was a boy was shooting black powder rifles, shooting bow n arrows, trapping crawdads, camping in teepees, racing derby cars and good ol noggin smashin' blackout football.

Now days I guess it's been sissified and safened up a bit like a lot of things.

As far as the fruit goes, this dog would much rather have a rack of ribs or steak to chow down on any but doubt that would dress the pic up as well/images/boards/smilies/rofl.gif

I beg to differ. A nice Rib Eye or Rack of Ribs would dress the pictures up just fine. /images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif

While I can clearly see the influence by Caravaggio.

I would really like to see more of a "Hans Holbein the Younger" with PWD car

Shark cars, you say? We've built 2 for my daughter's Powder Puff Derby.

First one was 2 years ago, theme was "Under the Sea"

Car was shaped like a Hammerhead, painted with Rustoleum's "Hammered" gray paint, had a Hammerhead on top of it, and the pictogram on back that I came up with. (got a 3rd in Originality for that, lol)

This year's theme was "Up in the Sky"....so she wanted to go with Sharknado as a theme. Built a thin car, put a shark on top of it we had left over from 2 years ago, and put Sharknado stickers on it. Not very "craftsmanlike" but it won...by a lot.

Cars look fast and menacing, thanks for sharing.
Sharp paint job on the second one!
