So... fellow pinewood derby enthusiasts. The MOTM series is nearly here. We've got a lot of racers contending for the top spot and title of MOTM. We've got three qualifiers before the finale in November. Each and every qualifier narrows the field down for the championship race. Who will be there? Venture a guess? Post it any way you choose, the ultimate winner or the monthly qualifiers. Let's see who can venture the best guess. (Sorry guys, I have nothing to give away.....) Of course you'll be allowed to change your opinion as the series progresses to the final showdown. No further guesses once the finale starts in November. It's all for fun.

Will it be a surprise? A spoiler? Ah, he had it in the bag from the start? Or will a rookie somehow pull it off? Let's hear your thoughts as I'm sure this will bring some interesting conversation. You know who I'm voting for.... Noooo, not him!

The beauty of this race is you can have a person not on the radar win the whole thing as long as everything comes together at the right time..

It is going to be a very interesting Tourney. I don't so much pay attention to the guys at the top because we already know their going to be contending. I like to see the unknowns rise to the top 10. For me the racing was more fun on the climb and shocking people. There is a few out there that I have my eye on.
I also like to see the ones that have been in the game for awhile and have never had any or few wins, all of a sudden come alive and everything starts clicking. I feel there is a few of those coming also.

I am going to go out on a limb here ! My guess for the ameture MOTM will be ......... Either Ski Dogg racing or Vizual Racing !

And for GO Racing give Em hell buddy ! I will be rooting for all 3 of you guys from afar !
See you guys soon !
Until next time,
OTO Racing signing out !

I heard Vizual's quicker car met an untimely demise earlier this week.

Does SkiDogg have the speed?

I'm going to predict a 16th place finish for my own car in SS-Am, maybe 15th only IF sixteen cars don't show up! The gods of pinewood speed have not been kind to me this month.

I honestly have no clue who to put out there as far as a prediction goes. I know that as long as his car is not going down beside mine I'll be rooting for bracketracer.

I know there are ton of good amateurs, and feel its going to be a very competitive field. All I know is I'm having a ton of fun spending time with my dad and brother building these things. I just hope I can give my brother a good run for his money once he starts getting cars sent in, he can really build some fast cars.

I can't wait until Saturdays race its going to be very fun to see what everybody has to offer in this new season.

Thanks Viz! I'll be cheering on the Ohio crew from here in St. Louis!

+1 on that! I'll be knocking out the chores early so I can catch the whole show!

Well..... QT is off to a quick start, sweeping the top spots across the board. Did my sleepy eyes see that right?

SS and SP will be an interesting event. Will QT take those top spots also? Stay tuned!

QT did amazing last night. I can't wait for tonight to see what unfolds. I know personally I am competing against myself for my own personal bests as I have not stumbled across the secrets to be in contention to run with the top speedsters. However it sure is awesome watching the top guys cars go down the track.

Apparently, I suck at predictions! Only six cars entered SS-am! I made the top six!

You did awesome man! Glad you found so much speed. I was saying all along to my crew here in ohio you were the SS Am to beat. I was right! Can't wait till the next race.

Well... There you have it, QT with a clean sweep in the SS Pro and SP classes last night. He certainly has proven himself to be a tough contender. JBD showed some promise in the SP class, but fell just short of breaking QT's sweep. QT with a flat out display of pure dominance.

It's early and anything can happen yet. JBD may find some speed in the SP class. ZZ was right there with Blackjack in the Eliminator class. The Nationals winner Zeebzob, was knocking on the door for the Unlimited top spot but couldn't quite get there, this time. Street rod class was a close one too, with Down4Derby and ZZ Racing right on the heels of QT. In Street Stock Pro, GS1 Racing was only off the mark by .0068, I'm watching out for him next month.

QT was not our only winner this evening. In the SS Amateur division tonight, BracketRacer clinched the top spot with 2.9766 average times and qualifying him as a SS Pro racer at the close of the tournament. (If tournament rules have been read correctly.) Who else will join the SS Pro ranks in this tournament? Time will tell. Congratulations BracketRacer!

Next month will be interesting. Can QT sweep again or is he simply unstoppable? Stay tuned as we all look for more speed and lick our wounds from this beating. To paraphrase a chat room statement, with QT running that strong we're all fighting for second.

Congratulations QT on a fine display of your pinewood derby skills! And congratulations to all the racers that participated in this first of 3 qualifying rounds of competition in the MOTM tournament. Come back again next month and test your skill once more. The target is in place, aim high people, aim high!

Thanks Viz! I wish I knew what the heck I did! When I tested those cars prior to shipping the blue car was only .005 quicker than the green car. The green car ran as expected but I can't wait to get the blue car back and rerun it. There are obviously forces at work that I am unable to account for yet. A new set of v3's helped some, maybe you should try that stuff I mentioned in the pm a few days ago............I'm not sure if it was that stuff or the agent red rocket and I bonded with during the prep......

Viz, we both know that if your faster car hadn't gotten damaged I'd be congratulating you for the win. Next qualifier will be fun!

I don't know about that. Even with fenders on my car you still would have taken me out. You beat me pretty handily. I was AMAZED at how fast your blue car came off of the start line. You had me by 1/2 a car length coming down the hill and I don't think my fenders would have made up that kind of speed.

Again congrats on your pro status you deserve it.

Honestly if you are running 2.975 you are ready for the Pro Class. You are .01 away from being at the top. In the past we have not run a MOTM amateur race for street stock. Traditionally for the championship race you have to race your way in with the rest of the pros.
