Ok. Muffler tape is just amazing.

I don't know who invented it, but I would like to shake their hand.

Whoever introduced it to this forum so that I may come face to face with it, I would also like to shake that person's hand.

Monokote is a nightmare, muffler tape is a dream

Can you get it at auto supply stores? I am guessing to looks like aluminum tape? Are we talking great for covering top and bottom?

It's actually aluminum HVAC tape. I got mine from Lowes. There are two different types, one has a thick coat of adhesive and the other doesn't. Get the Suretape AF912, it doesn't. I got the previous one and had to go get the Suretape AF912 because I almost had to rip my car in half to get it off. You could probably use that stuff for a tow strap. lol

I found some in the auto parts store in the autobody isle. Scotch brand Part No. 3311 Foil Tape.

To a person that is not weight conscience I think it would look great all over.

If you are really stingy about any extras then there are lighter solutions.

Back in the rear you can go hog wild though.

I bought mine a Harbor Freight...

Hi Papa V,

I got some at HF too.

Way less expensive than the stuff I got elsewhere.

It felt weird spending a lot on tape that I would only need a tad of.

I like to sand the edges to get it really smooth at the leading edge.

This also stains the wood with the aluminum giving me that worn/ fuel exhaust look that I am fond of.

Hey Tony!

How ya doing?

Good to see you again!

You thinking about league racing or just picking up some speed info?

I am telling you...

The hipsters would go nuts for a PWD bar in Williamsburg or Greenpoint!

What can we do to make this happen?

Hey laserman!
I am not sure if the hipsters would go nuts. They might think PWD is too mainstream because more than three people do it.
However, if we served organic beer and some Pabst Blue ribbon, they might just show up.
I am hanging around picking up speed tips. Plus, this is an entertaining bunch of guys, so why not hang around and join the shenanigans until its time to race again next year?
I am not planning on racing yet. My wife would shoot me if I picked up another hobby that ate up my time. She is already on edge from the guitar building!
