Well here's the QuickTime boys offering this year. Since the race is on my track I promised the other dads that our cars would have no track time till the race. Witch one do you think is going to win?

I'll guess the one on the right, but they both look ready to rock !!
clap
Seems like a pretty steep cant on the RR wheel for a kids race.

Nice looking cars QT! Its got to be the one on the left...It's got Fire, but I predict a one, two finish in the pack.

QT , Does people in your pack know you race Pro? If they do I'm surprised they take it so well. In my area my son and I keep that under wraps. People here are not as good as sports. But anyway the cars look great! I won't pick a winner but my son loves Mario and said Mario is fast so that car will win. LOL Good Luck quicktime Boys

Yea every one in our pack knows. In fact I helped build 3 cars last night!! That makes a total of 8 out of the 11 boy's in the pack that have Block drilled blocks and set up as rail riders. I am very much looking forward to this race it should be much better than the past years. The last two years my boys car has just destroyed the others. I am not going to run them down the track the will be tuned by roll only. We shall find out on Sat.

I love that, QT. Good on you and your boys!

I want to help out the others in our Pack, but we've had some rather competitive races and I don't want our secrets to push the others in front of us! /images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif Not until we've won the Pack race at least once...

Good luck at the race!

This is exactly how we have to handle things too. We've got to keep it a secrete for 2 more years.

Both of the cars look great and there's no way to know until they run, looks can be deceiving. /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

I am very curious to see the difference in the two cars. One is lower profile, the other has a wider wheel base. One is more aggressive on the COM. One has a better axle drill job than the other. So it is any ones guess.

Those are great looking cars

. I have a couple of noob questions. The DFW, are they the bent axles on the right? Is the right wheel always the DFW?

Are the wheels canted? Just trying to see what the stuff I read here looks like!

Rook, Yes my FDW are the right front. You can choose either the left or right for you FDW, most right handed people have a right frt dominant. The rear wheel are both canted by using the block to drill the holes on the cant angle.

Ahhh, ok, I'm learning! Is the left front NDW canted too? If so how do you cant the front. Understand that the rear is drilled at an angle and straight axles are used. BTW are the axles grooved for graphite?

I'm reading a bunch of threads in here, just trying to make sure I understand them.

Thanks

Typically the positive cant on the FDW will raise the non dominate wheel off the ground. If it doesn't I will usually just index to hole a little to get it up. On these cars the axles are not grooved for graphite.

Got it , thanks. So thinking out loud, if I need to run a car with all four wheels touching, but cant is allowed, I would not index up the NDW, and tune the positive cant on the DFW so the NDW just touches. Thinking about this more, then this might make it challenging to tune the drift while keeping all four wheels touching.

Have never done this, just thinking about it for our next car build. Sorry if I thread jacked this. I can start another thread in the ask the pros section....

Let us know how the cars do!

No problem my friend. I have not had to run 4 on the floor so I can't be much help on that except for this. John (DD4H) has a pre-drilled block with built in correct steer that is a four on the floor and from what I hear it is incredibly fast. Sounds like it would be worth the investment,

Put a bend in the ndw also and turn it up for tuning and when done turn it down till it barley touches and see if it affects drift. once contact with the rail is made if your frontend is light enough it may lift the ndw.
