My First Fenders, too big?

They don't look too big to me but make sure you back cut the under side of the fenders so they don't rub the track. How much did they weigh?
my fenders do not look that nice, what size hole saw or forstner bit did you use for the curved part by the wheel?
Ugh. I'm up till 3am working on fenders and Iceman shows off his that are 10x nicer.
rpenning - I fabricated my own high-tech custom tool for making that curve just the right size. Its too complicated to describe ... so here's a picture:

And yes that is a derby worx wheel mandrel. See - I find uses for all that junk!
(Sorry, I get a little loopy when I'm tired. I better stay away from the scroll saw)

Fenders look great! You may want to reconsider your body design though. Watch this video to see why.

GravityX - The Body is that way because it's my 7 year olds and it was our very first car we built ever. Thanks for the link/info!! We took 1st in pack with it and we are going to districts with it. So ya, next years build will be all Sub 3!!! Hopefully!
I seen Johns and these look way to big!!
Batman was the slowest 3.09 42 best track with my my Kindergartners @ 3.06 and my rail was 3.017. We had the three fastest cars out of 30 some. Alot of research!!!!!!!

I agree, by comparison, anything you compare against the GEE fenders will look big. I think everyone here has used a balsa, pine or basswood fender at one time or another. John's new fenders cut down on some of the work needed when using fenders, no more sanding shaping and fitting all the time. The bonus is they're FAST!
