I did some cleaning today, and as I hinted yesterday, I decided to do a quick tour of my tool boxes for Pinewood Derby...
This is my main toolbox for PWD, a Harbor Freight 4 drawer roller cart, I got this for $99 last year. It makes a great work surface when my bench is crowded, or when I'm doing big projects that need some extra space.
Underneath I store my mini shop vac and belt sander, and some other odds and ends...
I bought this to upgrade my work space and the roller cart, I can now run my belt sander and scroll saw on top of the roller box and do so anywhere in the garage as space dictates.... Best part is it's on a different circuit than my bench outlets, so I stopped triggering the breakers so often. Don't know how I managed without it!
Above is my toolbox with the hood up! Below are some detail shots...
The first drawer has Tungsten and my scale, the Second drawer is my wheel storage and tons of graphite...
This Third Drawer is all wood blanks and car blocks, also has two chassis I never finished that used those lead wheel weights....
Some miscellaneous stuff here, my Balsa, junk wheels, and plastic baggie storage. Oh, and so many Q-tips!
The toolbox Lid contains my homemade track gauge, my axle and tool storage, some current bodies I'm working on, and stuff I need anytime I'm working on cars....
These are my kits, I've got one for Polishing Wheel Bores, One for Axle Polishing, and one for fenders and additional junk that doesn't work anywhere else....
So that's it for now. Of course have a giant Craftsman Toolbox with all my screwdrivers and pliers, wrenches, and typical guy tools. Nothing special to see...
Please take a photo or two of your PWD tool and parts storage and post it below!
