National Championships Results!

With the new program I was delayed getting these posted. I don't like being this slow to post! Go to the results section of www.npwdrl.com for all results and car stats or CLICK HERE! IF YOU DON"T SEE THE UPDATE THEN HIT F5!

I want to give a massive thanks to the guys that were here live and helped out. Quicktime and CamCar did a first class job staging. Rick, ET, SoSlo aka Douglas Fir wore a path picking up the cars. DaPine and Run A Muck were flawless prestaging. Mr Chips has gotten offers now to MC AFV! He did a great job filling the dead air. Chief helped wherever needed! THe live guys were awesome.

I want to congratulate the winners. We had more proxy winners than live! This season has been proof that you don't have to be live to win. The racing was once again the most exciting I have ever seen. The ones that raced were truly amazing. Those of you that missed really missed out on something special.

The Street Stock Amateur National Champion- Little Man Racing
The Street Stock Pro National Champion- 5 Kids Racing
The Street Stock Elite National Champion- Owens Racing
The Street Pro National Champion- Stonecold Racing

The Trophy for the best looking went to- DaPine Racing

That is the first time EVER that every top trophy went to a different person.

I want to give a huge thank you to our sponsors. A MASSIVE THANK YOU to DG13 for helping to provide 1st class hardware to hand out!

I am honored to be able to race with the very best and once again I thank all of you who support and make the NPWDRL what it is.

I hope I didn't leave anyone out and if I did feel free to punish me in this thread.

I think you had better recheck Quicktimes points in the Street Stock standings. It looks like he should move up one place.

Thanks for all your hard work, John.

I would like to say it was a great pleasure and an honor racing with some of the greatest racers on the planet! Congrats to all the winners, and that means everyone who attended and sent in cars. Each and every one of you are champions in my book! We all know just how hard it is juggling life and pinewood derby racing so once again congrats to each and everyone who participated. Next I think all those who worked so hard at the race were simply awesome. I know without those great stagers, my cars would have finished far lower. It was great meeting those I did not know and seeing those that I do know again. Next a big thanks to Mr Sparkman for the GREAT trophies, I only wish he were there live as a race is always better when he is there. I would like to thank Danny for all he does for me as he has enriched my life with his friendship. I could go on and on but I won't. Last I want to thank my brother, who I love with all my heart, who is without a doubt the greatest pinewood derby racer who ever lived, for all he has done for me and for each and everyone who races these cars. We all owe you more then we can ever repay. Last but certainly not least, A big thanks to Jenny for being a gracious host, opening her heart and home to me and all the rest of the racers!!!! I love you so much. I want to also say how great it was seeing all my nieces and nephews, I love you all so much and am so proud of each one of you!!!!!!

Here are the SS times for all, and then a blow up required to see the detail

WOW! a great many super fast cars. 5 Kids has put enough time between his car and all others to suggest another "breakthrough" is possible

I want to CONGRATULATE all the WINNERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every one did a great job. These cars were scary fast.

Thanks John, for putting on one of the best races I've ever been to.

The track was prepared so well and kept clean for all races.

And that showed with the close racing times. It gave all racers

a fair chance to win. Just look at the results .

7 races and 5 were proxy, it just don't get any better.

and I just wanted to say your products rock ,

I was running your wheels your super fast 92 axles and

that oil was awesome.

Thanks so much for all your help.

I will do the other classes- had to go plead stupidity in court today.
It works sometimes. (Why were you going x in a 30 MPH Zone!!)
I was daydreaming about a new axle process and it made my car go faster!

I had a box (like the smaller box we use to ship cars) but instead of a car, it had several tools and parts, plus two bottles of oil.

Did anyone received this strange box that looked like a car box by mistake?

Please PM me, I will pay shipping.

detail showing times changes of each car.. In general, finals average much faster than prelim times for the same cars. So how do the cars know they are in the finals??
I think it is very true that " to have the best race, you must race with the best" If your car is surrounded by fast cars, it goes faster.

Does anyone have any photos that they can post of DaPine's car that won the best looking award? I have seen his cars in the past and they're always beautiful works of art. It'd be nice to see his latest that won the award.

Thanks!

TXchemist, Thanks for posting these graphs. It really helps in seeing the overall picture of the race results.

So whats your feeling of the situation of the NPWDRL cars that competed at nationals?

txchemist said:
You are welcome. I have to see a chart of the data to get the feeling of the situation.

Well, I didn't think about it much before because my car is so slow to begin with, but after you think you have a fast car, the next level is how does that car perform with other fast cars next to it. It looked like we had a lot of reduced wind friction from cars with fenders and most notable in the street rod class when the finals were run and every run had fast cars on the track possibly creating a drafting effect even though they are side by side, the overall wind flow must think a wing is coming down the track and reduce the drag between cars. This is not seen so much on the cars without fenders in unlimited and eliminator... SO, if you are not racing with the fastest cars in the world, I think it makes it difficult to get the fastest speed out of your car. You also wont have any friends who can help you.
