National SS car ?

Building a new SS car for next weekend National 'Ship race, added and glued all my tungsten cubes, added a skin on top, threw it on my scale with three .08 gram wheels, 3 axles, fenders and a guide pin. I'm over 5 ozs by .14

Any ideas to shed .14? I'm a hair under 5 without the fenders

Is this a street pro. With .08 gram wheels it should be. Snip the ends of the axles off that will same some weight. Otherwise get out the drill or dremel and shave the body. Or hollow out the fenders,it's hard but it can be done.

You can always drill a few small holes in bottom side of body. Once you get it close, add a piece of tape over the holes to make sure the air flows over the holes nicely. I would rather do this than trying to hollow out fenders if possible.

+1 on what Rocket said should be a SP, SS needs at least 2 gram wheels. Also do what Goat said, drill out you undercarriage then tape over and you should be fine.

I don't believe a guide pin is allowed for SS either. Rules I read said 4 wheels required.

MX, you said in a previous post you were running SS and Unlimited IIRC.

I would drill the bottom as previously recommended. Def tape the holes shut!

maybe pop one tungsten cube out and then bring back to weight with tungsten putty if you have it.....that stuff works really well for me to get the weight optimal.

This is what I would do. But I would bring it back up to weight by cutting a thin piece of sheet lead, which most hobby shops have. Put the lead over the tungsten, then recover the weight pocket.

Thanks everybody, I'm bringing the car to the June 21 race as is and get some hands on help before I muck it up.... I have other cars I can race in SS and SP and Unlimited. I'm sure having the best builders in the world, we can figure this out I glued my tungsten cubes in with Elmer's glue instead of super glue, so it should be doable to remove 1 cube if needed. I'm really looking forward to racing and learning next weekend.
