What an experience this race was for me. Having never built a pinewood derby car before this race I've always been on the receiving end of all my dad's hard work (
G.O. Racing). No matter how busy his life was when I was a kid, and trust me it was busy for him, he never failed to somehow find the time to build a car. I can remember spending countless hours watching him work on the cars and testing different things before the big race. "All without the help of the internet mind you and only using basic power tools"
Now almost 25 years later, with the help of all his knowledge, new tools, and that wonderful thing call the internet, I finally made a car of my own and can't wait to do it again. I'm very excited that my car ran a 2.9891 after the adjustment. I'm also super bummed that
OTO Racing Ran a 2.9885 because I was talking a lot of smack to him for weeks leading up to the race, but I guess I'll just have to get him next time. I'm sure nothing produces faster times than having your rival builder sitting next to you building his car
.
So thanks to everybody who made this race happen, and thanks to my Dad (G.O. Racing), Chris (OTO Racing) and my brother (Skidogg Racing). I never would have been able to enjoy any of this without you guys.
