Nationals & MOTM Trophies..

I don't think tropheys were part of the MOTM Race. I think the tropheys was the $200 gift card. Could be wrong, not for sure.

Not sure how this is going to sound to many people, but do you guys really care about trophies ? Isn't that kind of a kids thing (and before long they go in a box ...).

I am not really in a position to worry about getting any here, but the few that I have, are MORE than enough for my lifetime.

Just my 2 cents

For me it's not so much that I'm into collecting the hardware, but to be able to get a trophy against the top guys like Kinser and Joel among others is really a source of pride. The ones that I have gotten do put a smile on my face for sure. It doesn't matter to me if it's an expensive wood and metal trophy or just a 5 dollar plastic trophy, it's what it represents.
What I think would be cool is if the winner of each class could get some kind of award each month - maybe just some small acrylic plaque that would easily fit in the shipping box so it wouldn't cost anything to ship it. Kinda like the NHRA has the Wally for each race, it would be cool to have something on a smaller scale. If it just went to the winner of each class, then it would only be like 6 of them per month.
You could then save the trophies for just the big events each year like the nationals.

Alas, I also am in no position to worry about getting any, lol.

When I was racing Radio Controlled cars, some of the tracks gave out small metal plaques slightly larger than a credit card. They were aluminum and some sort of printing process was used to put the track name and finishing position on them. Plaques for 1st, 2nd, 3rd an TQ were given out in each class. I put the few that I won on a nicely finished piece of wood and hung it next to my work table.

The competition in the NPWDRL is extremely strong. A win at this level takes a tremendous amount of work and effort. As you can tell from the badges below, I have struggled to win anything. For me, a trophy would be highly valued and a reminder of the accomplishment. Maybe if I won as often as QT, Kinser and DD4H, I wouldn't feel as strongly about this. But for now, the thought of being able to compete at their level is what drives me. A symbol of that accomplishment, should it ever become reality would be something special.

We are grown men playing with little wooden cars. So, yes this is a kid thing. I'm not growing up and you can't make me!
blah

Hoping they're as good in the 2nd half as they were crappy in the first.
