Decided to try something other then the standard rectangle wedge. Went with a freehand drawn Viper design. Drew the profile and folded the paper on the centerline and cut it out to get it symmetrical. Building one for myself and one with my scout.

Going to take a snake head logo for mine and my son picked out a pokemon inspired design from google images.

Mine is the thinner one but still about 5/8" but it is only 11g. I left his a little thicker just for more durability. If last year is any indication his will still be one of the thinnest designs in the district.

That is one thing I am still trying to decide. For mine I can mask and spray paint it or print it out either on decal or label paper. I also have a co-worker that can do it on vinyl. My son's I will have to print it out and trying to figure out if I can design the full length of the car or do it in pieces and have him paint on the background color.

Looking good Nick!
It has that shoe print shape to it.
I am a fan of that shape personally.
Amazing that they are so light given the amount of wood.
It is such a struggle to keep one's weight down!
BTW good catch on the Driftwood car, but you could have let it float out there a bit longer.
I wanted to see Iceman fall all over himself helping with the build.
Been looking at that RC site you posted a link to.

It is awesome!
Best of luck with the build.

Is this an attack again Joe?

Just being playful Shawn.
If it was an attack then you would know it.
Besides I have turned over a new leaf.
Thirdly, you are starting to grow on me.

I know, I'm just messing with ya! lol

Looking forward to watching these progress. Do you drill your axles before or after you shape your body?

I screwed up my paintjob on my car and have been to lazy too redo it. Here is my son's car body finished though. We were able to get his design on a vinyl wrap that a friend printed for us. The upload is a little grainy. In person it is real sharp.

Very cool! Great Job!
