New cars

I'm planning on sending in some cars for the March race and I have a probably stupid question but figured this would be the place for some understanding. Do most builders build new cars for each month or do they tweak a car for the next race. Be gentle I'm trying to learn thanks

I am a tweaker. I only build new cars to go faster than the ones before. Some cars I have raced for many years.

Looking forward to getting into it. Will definitely be a new experience. Love helping my kids build theirs for scout races but haven't tackled oil yet

If you built a good body and you verified that you have a good drill, then I would concentrate on learning to prep and wring the speed out of it. Good prep is where most of the speed lies.

Fellow rookie, I could not wait until March to find out. The kickoff race is tomorrow and I'm so excited it's hard to contain. This is, at the same time, knowing I don't have the practice yet to run with the big boys. But I don't care. Sometimes, you just gotta jump in whether you're ready or not.

Good question though as I have wondered the same thing.

I do build a lot of car ... When I'm in the mood I really enjoy building cars.. There are a lot of variable in making a fast car , even a competitive car against the top guys... Wheels play a big role, the drill/alignment, then his fenders are installed , gaps , weightplacement , and last PREP.. Tuning is crucial also. This series here I have built a few new cars that I'm going to mess with each race and tweak on to see what kind of speed can be found.. I will have a few new cars for Nationals but won't be seen till Nationals cause of a few new ideas I've been siting on.. Save the best for Nationals ..
