New Diablo SR (in process)... And a trade?

Seeing that I'm not going to be able to finish this car in time to ship for the MotM #3 (lack of a bandsaw and a belt sander to build the chassis), I figured that I'd post some preemptive pics of the 'HiJack', a 1990 Lamborghini Diablo.

(Man, my new cellphone's camera just cannot capture a clear pic here. /images/boards/smilies/frown.gif

The cellphone camera had some issue with the lighting and distance — the car is painted with Testor's "Lime Ice")

I bought this as a used kit — it had been partially assembled: glass was in (it had been over-glued, complete with glue drips on the side windows), and the decklid had been installed upside down and damaged. This led to difficulties in masking, and I just didn't get the finish I'd hoped for. /images/boards/smilies/frown.gif

That being said, when I submitted the Calliente last month, I didn't see anywhere near the speed I'd hoped for, due to a bad drill job and straight-from-the-box wheels (a Scout-dad level build, not a NPWDRL level build).

My Proposal
I will build and paint the car body of your choice in exchange for a new/used Silver Bullet (or "The Block") and some new DD4H wheels (Cheetahs?) to run in the SR class. (You provide the kit — although I do have a couple kits at the ready that I could sell: like a *cough* Opa! *cough* Porsche 928 [which I have planned to paint like the 928 from Risky Business and would name "the U-Boat"])

First come, first served. (I would only need one Silver Bullet) Second come can negotiate a price. /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif

Thank you for your consideration!

Hopefully your Charger will beat it this time. /images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif

Edit: I saw the RCS Countach in the entrants list, but no RC Suicide. /images/boards/smilies/confused.gif

I like the color. I almost picked out that one the other day when I was at Hobbylobby. Could you cannibalize a previous chasis?

My original color choice was Testors' Flaming Orange , which appeared to be a color bonkers enough for a Lambo. Instead, the paint in the can was more of a "Root Beer Candy"; not necessarily a bad color, but not worthy. Testors (Rust-Oleum) refunded me the money for that can (helpful customer service, btw), and I switched over to the Lime Ice.

Turned out to be a good choice, though. Not only is green my son Jack's favorite color, but he really digs Lamborghinis. Thus, the name "Hijack".

Sure wish my phone did a better job of capturing the color and detail.
