Hi everyone, great forum and an awful lot of knowledge here! Name is Shawn from Omaha NE and I go by Ice (old gamer’s name), I’m a computer guy that turns wrench, has a love for old cars and loves to build things. This is our (two boys 5 and 7) first year of doing the Pinewood derby and I'm hooked! You might have seen me over on one of the other Forums. We just finished up our pinewood derby a few weeks ago and did pretty good and are headed to Districts. (Ran 3 cars but I'm on build #7)

I'm lucky enough to be 3 miles from The Mid America Pinewood Derby. I got talking with Greg Dawes over at The Mid America Pinewood derby and ended up on the committee and look forward to helping out! Looks like a class act! Just got my silver Bullet and Novus polish, I have an order in with John for Wheels and some RR wax. Looking forward to improving my technique on axle and bore prep! Not to mention everything in between! Thinking about NPWDRL when these two races are done!

Now does anyone have a cheap track for sale?? lol

Thanks
Ice

Hello Ice and Welcome to the NPWDRL Forum.

So... you've been bit by the pinewood bug I see. Well, welcome to the Pinewood Bug get well unit. You will definitely get better if you hang around here long enough.

On another note: Here is a link to a track that is for sale by another racer. Not sure if it is sold yet or not, but it may be worth checking into.

Welcome Ice Man. I love this forum. You are in the right place, questions get answered so fast, and friends get made faster! Your boys will love this new venture, best of luck!

Ice Ice baby ...
peace

Sorry Ice the song just popped into my head and well it slipped out... Welcome to the Forum... You will have a blast here and can't wait to see some cars....

Congrats on the first leg of Scout racing and hop all goes your boys way at Districts!!!

Papa V

Welcome Iceman, good meeting you last week. You are in the right place to learn from some of the best.

Hey Aircooled, It was good meeting you too! Seemed like a good group! I look forward to working with everyone.

Now if you have a test track, how many beers/run? /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

Nice '66. My first car was a '67.

Lol Me too! only another 67 owner would recognize 66 bumper! My 67 had a stroker, 383, 4 speed saginaw, and a quadrajunk. Kicked alot of @ss. Big time sleeper. (red oxide paint only, till it got t-boned)

ThIs has a slightly built 400 small block, 400r4 trany and 4.11 rear. With burned out glass packs! lol

Did you have a Bigblock?

Mine was Blue oxide paint and I flipped it 5 times. It had a hot 350 with fuelie heads a high rise Edelbrock with a Carter 750, a huge Crane cam, Mallory ingnition and a T400 with a shift kit. I actually had three motors in that car. It was fast. I only ever lost one race. It was to a guy with a GTO, big block 400. He only beat me by half a car length because I missed second gear. lol

lol, the guy I bought mine from walked with a limp and was hard to understand because he rolled it his 67(don't know how many times) at over 100 mph. I bought his 67 parts car.

What did you run in the rears? 373 or 411?

Iceman,

I know there are a bunch of car guys on this forum.

Did you ever race automobiles?
