So I am getting ready to build divider's for my stop section. My question is how tall are your divider's? I was thinking 4 inches, but when I put a ruler on it 4 inches seems to tall. I bought a big old piece of plexi glass cant wait to see how they turn out. Any advise on any of this build would be awesome. I plan to build them this weekend.

Quick
I used this foam poster board I picked up at one of the chain office supply stores. It is about 3/16 maybe a 1/4 inch thick. I mounted it to the outsides of the track with double sided tape. Didn't need any special tools to cut it just a razor knife. I figured if a car got sideways and hit it the damage would be less . It was cheap about 5 bucks and some time

Sweet thanks for the info. I think I am going to shoot for that 2.5-3 area. I found some pretty cool mounts today that will make it possible to remove the dividers after each race. I do about 20, hopefully more local race's, so it's up and down and stored and moved alot. I have to order the mounts so it wont be finish by this weekend. I will post some progress pictures as they come.

here are the pics of the speed trap.

Here are a picture of the dividers, kinda hard to see them since there clear. I am really happy the way they are turning out. The mounting hardware should be here early next week. I am going to have some vinyl lettering made and call it the Smart Stop. I have enough glass to make another, might have one up for sell in the near future. We'll have to wait and see how it turns out.

We ordered a extra stop section then found some .063 aluminum that we sheared to 3" x 80" then ground off the protruding 1/16th alignment edge on all the stop strip sections and welded it all together & trimmed it with 1/16th edge-loc.

That looks great. If all works out this one should be completely removable, since I do alot of setup, tare down, and packing up. The two main reasons for the plexi glass was the ability to still see the car in the stop section, and being able to not have to put a edging that sticks out on the top of the dividers. Having run the cars back and forth at some of the past races I noticed that it is easy to catch a wheel or fender on those top edges.

Well they are done and I am really happy how they turned out. May have another set for sell soon.

Not pictured is the foam stops at the end that are now installed, I have a wrap being made for the end cap I'll post some more pictures when I get it on.

Well ran a pack race tonight and the Safe Stop System worked awesome!!!! I am glad I got them in place, at least one car would have hit the floor do to low hanging weights.

Wow, that looks totally awesome bro! Very cool! You want to do our cub race? /images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif

Thanks man. I don't think your pack would like the gas bill. It was really funny the pack leaders kept coming and saying, "Wow this is so nice! Way better than the other guys. Can we give your # to some other packs?"Of course I said, No! Oh, wait I like money. I guess we will see how good the word of mouth is.

Do you have time to make a set for our six lane Best track double stop section? This might turn out to be a good side business for you. What would be the estimated cost?

Awwwe man.

That looks great!

It will be pretty easy to put a clear top on it for the races that I am in.

This way, when my car comes cartwheeling in after everyone else it won't land on another car.
