Had such a blast racing yesterday I was inspired to hit it hard in the shop and start getting ready for Nationals.

Meet "Lucid Dreaming" she weighs a whopping 6.8 grams, Hot pink Gee fenders are waiting to be mounted up on her. Clear packing tape for a wrap, although I'll either stain it or dress it up with enamel first. Hope she's fast!!

I'm fired up too. Have the body done for my SS. Hope to have the wheels done this week. Need to figure out how to post pictures.

I think you'll find that most will use a photo hosting site such as Photobucket, but there are many others out there. Fairly simple procedure to sign up and use.

thanks guys!
I'll post an updated pic when the fenders and finish work are done.

Well here she is after some gloss clearcoat and new fenders, weight is now 9.4 grams. I also wanted to build a solid plank using old cedar, weight on it is 14.3 grams but still a bit more sanding to be done. The square veneers of birch are recessed flush and then glued on before drilling to help strengthen the axle housing.

Magenta eh?
Maybe that will catch Opa's eye!
Looking good.
Looking lean.
Eye of the tiger fella.

Thanks Laser and Papa!!

I wanted to try something different, although I suspect I may have created a tuning nightmare. The hot pink and the stained wood do clash a bit- but if it can pull sub 3 it will all blur together anyways/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif

Another productive day in the shop-
went ahead and turned the plank into a Street Pro, gonna call it "Old Growth" for the fact that it's carved from old growth cedar!

NG-The square in back is 1/32" birch veneer attached with gorilla glue. The original rear of the car was thin and flimsy and starting to split so I figured this would keep it firm yet light. I glued this on before I drilled the axle holes.

Oh my goodness!

I certainly hope that you are getting your sleep with this level of production.

Now that is a thing of beauty fella.

Your photography skills still need work my friend, and I gotta say that the name does not appeal to me.

She looks slim!

Here's the underside shot of the new fleet and a balsa car I'm building. This balsa car has the rear end cased in birch veneer and the axle housing is some more of that cedar sandwiched in veneer for strength. I think if I epoxy cubes in the balsa car it will really strengthen it.

Been burning the midnight oil but I just don't want to wait til the last minute and feel over pressured with prep, tuning and shipping of 6 -10 cars.

Here's the most recent status of the balsa car from the last picture. I'm going to run it in the Basx class- time now to take a short breather and save the Delorean for last. Between these 3 new cars and the other 6 I just ran will now be the new fleet, I will do my best to try and tune them for Nationals. Though the Delorean is going to take the place of my Challenger Street rod. Have some cheetahs waiting for the Delorean that should look real slick!
