On the balsa car you should run the yellow pine for the rear axle the other way it will be alot stronger.

Thanks for the tip Rocket.

I have often wondered about this.

Does it make the drill job easier as well?

Thanks,

Yes, alittle bit. Drilling into it that way, the drill bit will wander less.

Are you positive on this? It would seem to me that it could cause the drill bit to wander more easily. When you hit the hard grain lengthwise (on a more parallel plane) it's easier for it to wander to the softer grain rather than going through the harder grain at a more perpendicular angle.

Been re-working some Nats. cars and Porcelina, who sacrificed her pink fenders to my SP Lucid Dreaming so I could finally have that all elusive "1 pink GEE fender" as part of my collection/images/boards/smilies/rofl.gif

She was a bit light up front so I laid the enamel pretty thick hoping to help her performance wise as well as spruce her up a bit. The wheels and axles are just looky loos and the fender are not yet permanently fixed as I want to 45 the floater.

Thanks bud,

One thing's for sure, she'll be easy to spot at the gate.
Sometimes I have a hard time differentiating my cars with some of the others- not with this dog!

Thanks for the compliments fellas, been so busy I just now noticed the feedback.

Here's the final color scheme before I dumped it off in the mail, this has been one of my favorite builds so even if she's a total dog on the track I'll still be proud of her/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif

First off nice looking car! Now... what is that I see in the picture below? Is that a trailing edge fender? I've seen this before on another racers car. I've had thoughts and visions of this but never developed the thought onto the car. I'll try to keep an eye out for it tonight. SS (AM or Pro), right?

Thanks Paul and Wow, great racing last night!!

The plan is that the angle of attack of the 2 fenders will stream dirty air into the opponents lane, knocking their car off course- /images/boards/smilies/sneaky.gif
