New Street Stock proposal

With the amount of cars we are getting I am proposing one more addition. I am looking to break the street stock class into levels. Here is the idea. Feel free to call me an idiot...

Top 10 ranked racers will be considered in the pro elite level. The next 10 will be considered a pro level. The rest will be placed in the amateur level. Al. New builders will start as an amateur.

It will be a race within a race with racers competing with the ones in their class. There will be 3 winners crowned with trophies going to the top 3 in the elite level and a trophy going to the winner of the other 2 levels.

Season points will be awarded as they currently are with a total overall standing with all levels included.

Each month the top 2 in the pro and amateur levels will move up one level and the bottom 2 in the elite and pro levels will go down one.

Why do this??? With the "sub 3" accomplishment gone this will give something new to shoot for. This will also enable builders to progress and compete with other builders at their level. In reality it is very difficult for any builder to win a street stock class race so this will allow opportunity for success along the path to the top. It will give newer builders goals to shoot for and it will also push those at the top to try and keep their place. Yes you will possibly go from a pro status to amateur but the level names are irrelevant.

I had considered this for the other classes but I think they are a pro level to start with. This combined with the other changes should help us grow the NPWDRL to levels that have never been seen before.

Please feel free to shoot holes in my ideas. I just want to make this a good experience from top to bottom.

i think it is a very good solution to the age old question/arugment of should we have a "rookie" class.
this will keep the points race even more exciting !

I like it. I was originally against the wheelbase change, but since PWDR went to manditory 3 wheels in limited I don't have a good fit for my sons scout cars. I think it will do exactly what you are trying to achieve (a better class for getting new people into the sport). Also, since Friday was my first time trying to tune a short wheelbase, I'm ALL FOR changing it/images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif

IMHO it is a fantastic idea. The racing will be exciting and it gives everyone a chance to be competitive.

I will never forget one of my first league races, I was sandwiched between Carolina and You. Well I think we all know how that turned out! I can't believe I'm still racing after that beating

! Anyway teared racing for Street Stock can only help open more doors for the guys who are on the fence about league racing. Kudos on an awesome concept.

[font="times new roman, times, serif"]Thats a Great Idea!! This will make it so that anyone wanting to come in to league racing does not get totally smoked and just give up. I think it will make it more competitive on both levels. And at each level everyone can measure their success and feel like they accomplished something! I like it!!!

I love the idea except that you should only move from

one to the other based on times. In other words if the top pro's times surpass the bottom elite pro then he takes his place. Make it based on performance. You have to earn your position in other words.

Good idea because we all know that US rookies can't be competitive with the pros. That can be a very sad out come for the league if no new guys stick around.I have been on the fence about racing the pros and this would help with that with the new guys like me.Keep up the good ideas john!

What about only one car per entry.Like the team racing? If one person is sending three or four cars in at a time.Thats kinda hard on a guy with one car only.It would be hard to watch nascar if Stewart racing owned 7 cars. Not much fun in that.

It would refer to builders only. Builders can enter multiple cars but they only score the fastest one anyway. You don't want to limit entries.

I agree. No car should move up if it does not outperform one of the bottom cars in that upper class.
