Hi all. I just want to take a sec and intro myself. I have been building derby cars with my son
in scouts for the last 4 years. The first year we raced I had no idea what I was doing and we got it
handed to us. I looked around and thought wow there are some fast cars here. Since then, after
doing a ton of research and buying a bunch of marketed tools I slowly started to learn. We went on to
win a couple district races. Win or lose it was a rush... We are now finished with all of that and aged
out. I ran across this site and actully spoke with John a few times (really straight up guy) and he gave
me some good direction. Now we would like to move on to Leauge racing and have some fun. I had done
some reading here about the needed tools and supplies to compete. The one thing I will say is that the people on this fourm are really willing to help out new racers. That is not the case I found with my past racing. So onto a few quick questions. I hear a lot about the proxxon drill with XY bench. does anyone have a model number for these or is there only one? I have read about the silver bullet and have one in
my future. As far as the weight pockets I only have a dremmel at this time, You cant miss a beat with
it or you can really mess up bad. I will have to see if they have a guide to steady it out. I dont have the funds to get all of this at once so if anyone can put them in order of importance for a new builder I would apprecitate it. I will have to send in my car to race. Is there a certain web address to watch the races?
Thanks for any assistance and hope to be racing soon.
