Well, I decided to build a new Unlimited for the CFC, and this is what I got:

She's called, "Small Carbon Footprint", and it's the first car I've put any color to in a while. I like the way it came out, and I LOVE the new GOAT wheels that ended up matching well with the color scheme. Unfortunately, I don't have much hope for this car to run fast this month since I spent a total of about 1 hour putting this together, including the finish. Next month is another story, though! For now, my natural pine Unlimited, "Road Rage" will have to keep me in the hunt.

Thanks, guys.

Actually, this was one of the fastest ways I have ever found to put some style to a plank. It started out as a project for my son's Scout car this year, as he really liked the carbon fiber look. He's also nuts about the color green, so we searched around the internet. It turns out that we were able to find a green carbon fiber/texalium sheet that was a thin veneer (.015 thick). It can be purchased with a 3M adhesive backing, which makes installation really simple. It's relatively light weight (I think the piece I used was about .18oz), so it's not too different from the weight added by paint. (Find a similar item at: http://www.sierracomposites.com/015-green-carbon-fiber-veneer-11-x-8-p/cfsg118015.htm /images/boards/smilies/wink.gif

We used this sheet for my son's car, and I obviously had left-overs, which I put to good use on this car as a top layer. The sides of the car were "Kinsered" using a green Sharpie!

Now, my next task is to make this thing go FAST! I wasn't satisfied with the way the bearings were running when I spun them up, so I don't think it will do very well, but I plan to fix that.
