I haven't had the best luck with getting Flickr pictures to work lately. But the link should.

Now I don't want to harp on John. He runs a great business and seems to be a great person. My Cheetah 4.0 wheels I ordered looked perfect. Of course, I messed up two of the bores on them but one of those might work for the FDW.

Anyway, I did NOT do anything to these. They are the Dynasty BASX and just came that way. In order to make the first race I am going to have to run stock wheels and prep them. I have a mismatch. Street stock wheels and fenders but no car, and BASX car with only stock wheels.

Natalee's little sister ANYA will have to step in for her on short notice and without the proper gear. But I don't care. It's my first race. If I bomb, it's expected. Nothing to lose.

Why not run Box Stock with Stock wheels and build multiple cars for that class with wheels that everyone else will be running, then take your slower car make it pass up your fastest one then take your faster one and leap frog.

These wheels are terrible. When I first looked at them I thought that maybe they had been sprayed with jigaloo.
When I looked closer, a definite pattern developed. I would have to say that the wheels are from the same mold # and that the mold was contaminated. If the defect only effected the sidewall, you would have been ok. With the contamination effecting the outer hub, I would scrap the wheels.

Have you contacted John about this? Maybe he can replace the wheels or true the outer hub.

You are right... I looked at these many times and missed that.... They have an identical pattern, looks like a mold issue.

If you work a lot of wheels you will see this a lot! It usually is only on the out sides of the wheels. I have yet to see a wheel bore that looked like that of tread. Like Bulldog said if the hub gets work they'll run fine. Not so sure how it will run currently, graphite would probably be ok ,but oil would suffer.

I tried to smooth it out, but I just don't have the equipment to get it perfect so it doesn't wobble. Some of the spots are as hard as the rest of the wheel. Some are almost sticky soft.

As for Bulldog's suggestion, it looks like I will have to race box stock this time. Good idea.

Cramjet, just an FYI, if you're racing the league class BASX next time order BASX PRO wheels. You have the scout BASX wheels in the pic I think. You will be giving up some time running those in that class for sure even without the defects.
