Notch on body

I've noticed on some pictures on here that some are noticing the body where one front wheel goes, are they doing this rather than narrowing the front for the rail riding dominate wheel?

I like sanding down the DFW side a ill b.c it looks cleaner

If you cut a notch, though, it leaves you a little more material to work with so you can get the front fender to the right angle.
