So I just checked the race schedule and noticed there is another race next month, then nothing for may. And then the National champoinships in June.

Does a new season start in July?

Thank you for the link. I will try to get a car sent in to the April race. But if not then you will see an entry from me in september for the mini series.

I am supprised the normal season is so short with only 4 races. Its kinda bumming me out. Are there any other leagues that operate on an offset season? If so are they worth racing in?

Ted,

During the summer most racers have kids in sports and are trying to fit in a summer vacations. The forum usually comes to crawl and participation at the races slows down. The new format is a better solution for everyone. At the end of the first half you have the build up to the National Championship. After that you have a few months off to spend with family and get some cars ready for the fall series. Then you have a nice fall series that lets you enjoy the holidays. Trying to have multiple cars prepped and ready all year is a daunting task. Once you get a season under your belt you come to appreciate the new format.

I would agree. When I used to race every month in just 2 classes and trying to build new designs I was frazzled. Every time you turned around you had to get cars in the mail. Overnight shipping came into play sometimes. This time around I'm not taking it too serious. I know I don't have a chance at winning especially without a track. As long as I can better my times I'll be happy. Plus if I miss a race I don't care...

The break during the summer months works out good for a lot of reasons, some mentioned before. It is a great time to use doing some research and development looking for more speed. For us car guys we are in full swing with shows, cruises, trip, and racing. You combine that with all the family activities going on there is only so much time.
