On alignment table the wheels migrate out going both forwards and backwards.

However, going backwards the wheels migrate out sooner, and farther, than when going forwards.

It seems to me that this indicates the axles are slightly toe in going forward and toe out going backwards.

Assuming for a moment that you cannot change the drill angle, and if I am correct about the alignment issue at hand, and you must either have the slightly toe in condition or turn the block around and drill so that the block has a slightly toe out condition. which would you choose?

Since the wheels do migrate out in both directions, does it really matter? This is a basement scout car build, without precision tools. Just grandpa and the kids trying to win a race.

How high did you drill the front axle over the rear?
I haven't actually measured it. I use the "high" hole in the Silver Bullet Extreme Jig.
Edit: I mean to say that I use the front bushing for the DFW and the High hole on the other side, and never checked for a difference in height of the DFW
