Off to the Races

Nice looking car I'm sure it will do fine.....

I wonder though.....and I did it myself and now wonder why I did....does everyone start out in classes like pure stock/ basx type classes where the most knowledge about pwd racing is required.... I mean there is a learning curve to all the classes but for me classes like unlimited actually eliminates the need for having as much axle and wheel prep knowledge and fenders is not an issue and a lot of other things for that matter ... Not saying it's a bad thing I'm just wondering why people like myself included are drawn so heavily to that class vs the others

At least for me there is more of a comfort level as the rules seem closest to a scout build. I figure once I start to improve at what I am comfortable with I will learn some more skills fenders, bearings etc.

I am also ok with getting my butt kicked for a while.

i agree...for me it was "comfort" thing...seemed to be in line with what i had already been building

Yeah that's definitely understandable due to when I found a league racing site ....league racing was not my intention my intention was learning all I good towards helping my son build his next winning derby car for the scouts race.....then it turned into a league racing mind set....lol...I had to think about that one for a bit to understand why it was I chose the route I did.....with that being said and if you have a league racing mindset now don't be afraid to jump in on the unlimited races because as I was saying as far a prep goes it's not as extensive as prep for big wheel cars and I feel that it will allow for one to concentrate more on the basic fundamentals of building a car more so than say the big wheel classes ...perfect alignment ...straight axles ...good clean wheels ....good free spinning bearings...proper weight placement....a little tuning on the track....lets race baby
