As I wAs preparing my car I added the oil and put the wheels on the car.
At that moment a friend calls and says they just finished a scout derby
And he wanted to know if I had a car I could run against the winner before
They put the track away. So I grab my car not wanting to miss the opportunity
To run on an aluminum track and see how things are looking.

My question is how much of a difference does it make having the oil still wet
Vs. more dry and broke in.

My car still won by about two feet but it didn't run like I was expecting it to
And don't beat me up for running against a scout ( this was more for the use of a track)
he didn't mind much anyway, but his dad On the other hand well that was more interesting to see. Haha

I don't know if the oil ever truly dries, but after I prep a car, one or two runs and it is ready to race.

Yes it was a beat down but it was a scouts car and by the shape of it I was surprised it won the derby. I did notice at a glance that he or his dad had done some homework. ( lifted wheel and canted axels)
Usually doing just a couple things like that around here equal a win.

Wow... 2 feet is almost a whole second in time, but like you said, it was more about being able to run on a track more than racing the scout. Also, like Regal said, the oil never really dries.
