I've been very busy helping dads in our pack and a few others proving drilled blanks, weighting tips, etc. Now a few dads in a pack that allows oil want to give it shot. My question is - is it risky running oil on a track where a majority of the racers will be using graphite? Can it get into bores and gunk things up. Our pack is graphite only so I never gave it much thought. Any help appreciated.

I wanted our pack to switch if for no other reason than to stop the mess from graphite. Didn’t get that accomplished. We ran a mix and didn’t make the effort to distinguish. I assumed the oil runners were winning but didn’t get that noisy inspection.

I did do a cleaning and relube after. I don’t know if that was really necessary but at least clean the wheel surface.

Get your glass out & look for any black specs around the outer hubs.
I for one have been guilty of finding dry polish from my axle slots in there.
Took me a couple of re preps to figure out where it was coming from.
Lesson learned.
