So I guess this is a rookie mistake. I used the atomic wedge design and have 3oz total of tungsten cylinders placed inside each side of car. I weighed 4.98 before sealer/paint but now am at 5.04. I drilled 6 holes in bottom of car but am still overweight. So obviously need to drill more. My question is.. will all the holes affect the aerodynamics and should I cover them with tape or something?

It probably won’t matter much for a Scout race, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to cover them with clear packing tape, which weighs almost nothing.
You may want to check your rules. Many rules state that the cars are weighed to the tenth of an ounce - and some actually specify 5.05 oz - in which case you’d be okay

No, we cannot exceed 5oz. I’m just wondering how many holes I”ll need to drill. The six I have in barrly took of any weight. We made it to Worlds ladt year, so I don’t want to blow it this year.
Bummer. “World’s” rules say 5.0, but also says they measure on a 1/10 scale, which means 5.04 would pass. As an aside, I’d recommend Mid America over “world’s.” Longer established, better run race and a bigger accomplishment to win there.
As for how much more to drill, it’s hard to say without seeing the car or the size holes you’re drilling. .04 is barely over a gram, which usually isn’t hard to shed. Depending on the design of the car, you could probably lose that by sanding the underneath of the car. Try to take it from the front if you can (not length but width or height)
