So our pack race is over and my son took 1st place this year. He raced on. A 35ft track I think. His best time was a 3.0110 . What should I do to the car for the district race. Repolish the wheels and burnish with graphite again, clean and polish axles again. Or just add new graphite and let her go?
Thanks for all the great post on this forum.

Congrats on the win! What was your original prep? Will not want to repolish your bores. they won't be as tight. Won't hurt to pull axles wash in rubbing alcohol, and reprep. We have always been most successful by just adding more graphite and spinning by hand. Depending on the track, 3.011 would be an outstanding time for a 42' track. How did your car ride? did it wiggle?

I'm thinking you might have been running on a longer track? My son just raced at Districts and he pulled in his quickest run of 2.3320 on a 35ft track. He set a track record with that run.

All we did prior to Districts was take a lil forced air and blew out the junk/dirt from the wheel bores and re graphited all the friction points and wheel bores. We used DD4H's graphite and the car ran faster the more it raced. My son ended up winning his age division (Wolf) and then went onto win the Championship.

If you don't already have it and you have enough time to order and get it in time before your District race, GET SOME DD4H graphite.

original prep was followed per the dd4h dvd. wheel bore polish kit with red rocket, dd4h axle polish kit followed with pledge on 92 axles. burnished dd4h graphite into rage wheel bores . insert axles added more graphite and spun wheels by hand a few times and repeated. installed wheels and axles added more graphite spun wheels cleaned tread with alcohol and put car in carry case. No wiggles that i saw but we were watching from the side of the track near the finish line. His car ran in 4 heats 3.0110, 3.0140, 3.0150, 3.0110
thanks for the help
