Pack race was held today.
Track, according to Troop leader, is a 15yo 6-lane wooden track, with a laminate top, 44 ft long. I got to look closely at track during break, connection seams were rough and not even. I could tell from side where I was seated, the track was not level lengthwise.
Car was built per rules, "must have 3 wheels touching and entire width of tread must touch flat surface".
Car was 1/4" sugar pine cut like the DD4H X-Factor. The voids were filled with balsa. Top and bottom covered with 1/64" Basswood. 5" WB, rear axle 5/8" from rear, 12 cubes behind axle, 9 cubes in front of axle, T-putty to fill in rest. .625 COM, .62 oz on front DFW. Rail-rider due to inability to cant front. Bent front axle 1 degree and drilled rear axles about 1 deg. Tuned to 3" over 4'.
Ran 6 heats...3.336 sec average, broke track record with 1 pass of 3.204, then broke it again with a pass of 3.201.
Placed first in Weblelos 1, and overall Pack Champion.
Thanks to all the guys on here and their massive amounts of knowledge.
Now, on to Districts in April.
