Does a thin body design that has a cutout design in the middle hinder it’s aerodynamics?

Yes. It helps reduce the body weight to allow for better weight distribution, but it will create aerodynamic drag if not covered with something like monocote, vinyl, balsa or thin ply.

If the cut-out, see-thru is meant to be part of the aesthetic, consider covering it with clear packing tape.
