Pinks All Out

[Resophonic Racing]

Pinks is slowly becoming a popular subject around the league. I think we all want to do something but we just haven't hit the right angle yet due to the monetary loss involved.

Ok here are my thoughts:

-DD4H comes up with a Pinks Kit (Discussed in another thread)

-We have a pinks elimination tournament (4 run average wins)
-Run each car one time to set a qualifying speed (4 cars at a time for qualifying rounds)
-Then seed the cars according to times (1st race last, that kind of thing)
-Then two cars on the track at a time to get the four run average for the win.
-Whenever you win a heat you get the virtual title to the car to display in your online trophy case.
-Virtual Title's can be similar to the virtual trophies currently being awarded.
-Once that car has lost it is returned to the owner and can not be raced again in a pinks race.

I envision the event being run by itself with the standard entry fees. Maybe run the event close to the kick off of the fall season. These are just my thoughts, nothing has been discussed with John. Obviously this is open to discussion and improvements. I think this could be fun. We could carry it further with chances to win your virtual title back, lots of fun possibilities.

What if the winner just kept the body, and sent back the wheels, axles, and tungsten to the loser. That way you would still have a trophy and the loser is only out a few bucks and whatever time spent on the body.

Virtual sounds good! And a reasonable kit sounds good as well! While I might be disappointed to lose in general, which would hopefully push me more to get better, I would be really sad to lose a set of cheetahs and 92 axels LOL....the body not so much like TB said but still I know some put a lot of time and effort into the sanding shaping painting process and there are some cars on the pics forum that are absolute artistic masterpieces!

So a kit that is reasonable cost wise as stated above and in the other posts would get my vote or if it ended up with racing with our actual top cars then its just a virtual prize or other reasonable token and not the high quality parts....

I do understand however, the excitement in these types of races, while some of it is bragging rights, a lot of it is based on how much you have to lose (for some, its only fun and challenging if you have something significant to lose)....the more you can lose the harder you try and the more excitement (or stress if you prefer LOL) there is and the sweeter the feeling if you win, and sourer the feeling if you lose....in this case, dont race if you cant afford to lose, dont bet what cant afford to lose, dont write checks your body cant cash.....LOL....im sure there are a ton of sayings that fit into something like this LOL,

no pain no gain, it takes money to make money, dont jump in the water if you cant swim, if your gonna talk the talk you better walk the walk, put up or shut up, resist please itll make victory that much sweeter....lol this is fun trying to think of these!....

I had a thought, along the lines of a virtual or token based award...what if the winner gets not only a virtual token but the token itself lists whose car they have or their avatar name says something like "WK Creations, Lord and master of...." and it lists whom they beaten and "owned" and the person who losses gets a token that says...servant of ......and then the name of whom "owns" their car. The only way to remove that from your avatar is to get revenge and beat that person the next time LOL....

I dont know how that would go over but...pretty sad to spend a bunch of time looking at your avatar and seeing servant all the time if you get beat by one of the experienced fast racers....but it is certainly incentive to go all out and win back your name and title LOL...
