OK, I'm going full out now! Someone please stop me. And don't tell my wife!

I'm looking at possibly buying pre polished nails...for my car, not my son's, off of ebay and using those instead of the ones I polish myself. But they are expensive! Here is my question.

Will I be able to notice any difference in speed with the ones professionally polished/machined than the ones I debur, smooth and polish myself?

Basically, is it worth it?

On a tangent, I want to order bore polish from DerbyDad4Hire, but his website is giving me a warning and won't load. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yep, I saw the same thing when I went there. Something about an expired certificate. I just overrode the warning and it went to his site like normal.

YES! You will see the most difference if you buy the Stainless Steel grooved axles from one of the suppliers. I assume these are legal since you are talking about the braggin rights class. They are larger diameter and a lot straighter than BSA axle. To polish you can use regular stuff from walmart like a 1000-2500 grit sandpaper kit and some mothers mag wheel polish.

THANKS! My kids will have to use standard BSA axles. I'm thinking I may be able to shine those up just as well as anything I can buy online. I'll order me a set of the stainless steel grooved axles. I sprung for a DD4H block today to see how that goes. Seems like it is the way to go for RR. I've also got a number of other bodies I'm going to experiment on to see how fast I can get them. Seriously, and sadly, I created 18 bodies this year for the Pinewood season. Now just have to put them all together.

I ended up buying some Novus 2 polish. I'm going to try to find the Walgreens Qtips for it. I'm not sure what other ones work well. If anyone knows, please let me know. I think I read Walmart brand are OK.
