Finally got a polish on the Predators that I am happy with and ready to give them a try; however, it appears that the hub is slightly smaller in length than a BASX Pro or Cheetah. Are people who are running Predators using a delrin spacer or are you notching the body? It seems that there just is not enough clearance between the inner wheel edge and the body with just a delrin washer. It's VERY VERY close.

There is no way I can run these predators with simple delrin washers. These predators were cut in such a way that the hub does not extend past the wheel edge (not even equal to the wheel edge). These are the only predators that I have cut this way. Not sure if I should scrap them or try with spacers. With spacers, the is a whole new dynamic when trying to use wheel covers, etc. Yeah, I know, just try it, but I hate to invest time for something that just will not pan out.

Thoughts?

Unless someone has doubled the washer, it seems like the second would have a tendency to spin. Not sure if it would, but there is no chance to glue it. I like the notch idea. Just need to account for it as my bodies get really thin up front. AND, it allows me to do whatever it is that I normally do. I just had to be beat over the head....

i have plenty of room when running a wheel cover and a washer.

+1. If you use HurriCrane's wheel cover and a washer glued inside of the cover there should be plenty of clearance. Otherwise double up on the washers like Kinser mentioned above.

I'll give it a shot. I can struggle at times getting the delrin washers to stick to the body. Gluing two washers together seemed to me to be an impossibility, but it is certainly easy to try and do.

Lay a washer on some sandpaper. Take your finger and slide the washer around to rough it up. Do both sides. Do a second washer the same way but only on one side. Use CA to glue the first washer (rough on both sides) to the body. Glue the second washer to the first washer (rough side to first washer). Use an old axle to line up the two washers with the axle hole in the body. I use Gorilla CA Glue.
