[Mr Chips Racing]

Hey All -

I have seen a fair amount of chatter about the Mid-America race. I know there are prizes that are being offered and wondered if that is one of the reasons so many of you are excited. I would like to get some feedback on what type of prizes everyone is interested in winning or receiving as door prizes. I am working with John to see if we can identify what motivates your participation.

Honestly I do not participate in the Mid-America race, I've always thought of it as a Scout Event. As far as door prizes, you guys always offer up some nice stuff.

I race to for the enjoyment. I know John is working on some type of sponsorship with the business my wife works at. I a trying to get sponsorship from the casino I work for. So hopefully with these two and I know others are working on we can come up with a very good prize fund that will attract more first time builders and participants.

I say we elect Mr. Chips as the PR rep for NPWDRL. He has my vote.

I know most are here trying to crack it... But man even if some of them would jump into the league would be cool ......

Let me say ... John you do a ton for racers already ... you do give out allot of cool stuff....

Car Giveaway-

A racer would have to race in 3 races three months and on the 4th month John built a car to give away .... This would require racers to participate each time ...

Make it so the top 3 and bottom 3 or (most improved), racers are entered into the drawing to win... This would also encourage new guys to come out and still have a chance at a DD4H car even though they are going up against pro's....

Just a thought outside of the box idea...

PR ok. HR not a chance. I'm too outspoken an politically incorrect. More to come from this. I would like additional prize ideas. Just throw em out there. Ol Tank has a connection or 2 and if not... I can just beat sponsors into submission.

I can tell you first hand that it is unbelievable how many get excited about getting prizes and stuff not to mention - if those that get the prizes are getting better pinewood derby wheels, axles, etc... I have seen it raise the level of competition. John and I spoke a long time about how many people get as excited about the stuff they can get for competing as they are about racing.

If the goal is to attract and get more racers involved it work

For prizes I've always liked the opportunity to win a set of DD4H wheels or SSG Blocks. I prefer cheetahs because I'm a SS Homer.

Any set of wheels, pit passes ect. Works for me.

I do like the pit pass idea. Of course, a nice set of SSP wheels would be nice too, with the option to exchange to the Cheetahs, if one chooses not to run in the Pro class. I do like the idea of product as a prize. Money works too...

All great ideas guys. Keep them comming. Some of my ideas and let me know your thougts on some of these. In my former careers I have had partnership in a hobby store so what about RC items, cars, trucks, heli? Or another idea is that I have connections in the wireless world. Like headsets or shields for phones. I like the ideas of tools, t-shirts and hats. Get creative but realistic please.

I like the wheels ideas and the free admission to a race, the best one I saw from Mid-America was the "BestTrack single test track", I started to drool when I saw that certificate

What motivates me to find time to build (I try to race 1-2 times per year--all I can do with family, etc.) is the competition, trying out new ideas, friendships. The money for the MOTM tournament did motivate me to go all out in several classes.

At the live races, I always enjoyed a door prize, but only ones I could actually use. Getting a DerbyWorx Axles Press or something stunk, but a set of DD4H wheels or axles would have been awesome.

I entered my first Proxy Race because of a Free Entry that I won at a live race. To get more people involved in Leagueracing, maybe a free certificate for a entrance fee with a shipping box? Maybe a larger prize a certificate for a set of wheels and axles in the class of their choice?
