qualified for final heat

My opinion, No... anytime you add graphite right before a final round it slows the car down. After your 4 races the graphite is broke in well. Let it ride....

Thanks guys! My son won first overall for the second year in a row.

The other car's times slowed as the races progressed but ours got faster. I assume the difference is axle and wheel prep.

Congrats on the win! Axle and wheel prep is part of it. Burnishing graphite into the wheel bore is how you get longevity as well as consistent times. I will never add graphite to the wheels prior to a race or during. My Mxquad said, it'll slow you down. Typically, if you haven't spun your wheels very much after wheel prep and graphite is added, your slowest times will be runs 1-4. Using John's graphite we've found our fastest and most consistent times to be runs 9-12.

Interesting... We have a chance to go check how my son's car runs this week a couple of days before the race. I'll load up the wheels & axles with John's graphite and send it down the track about 7-8 times then put it away until the race. Thx!

Fumbles, unless you're only doing 4 runs for the final, you're going to have to reapply graphite if you do 8 runs in practice.
