Question about run times

So to me its the strangest thing and i wonder if any of you have experianced this? Yesterday was our packs PWD event we had two seperate cars, one 1/4" wedge with balsa fenders and one old school beam type car. after tuning to our best efforts on our home track the beam wanted 1 1/4" of steer over 4 feet...the wedge wanted 5+ inches...ok thats easy to figure out the wedge had less wieght on the DFW...heres the mystery....the times on the beam car stayed consistant all day and the wedge car got faster and faster with each run...has anyone seen this before? Im guessing the wheels aand axles were married together with each run?

Was you running graphite? Kinda sounds like graphite was getting broke in to the sweet spot.

Both cars went undefeated all day the final two races was brother and sister head to head switching lanes. ....my son beat my daughter out by a nose on both runs...but we came away with first and second place hardware

This happened to my son's car last year... It got faster and faster even in the finals. Which worked out great as it needed the extra speed to beat out the other cars. Most of which were very fast.

Fingers crossed thats the case with his. Our pack follows the impound rule and they wont get their cars back till we arrive at the district race so repreping or retunning will not be an option...just hope we arent bringing knives to a gunfight

Just wondering what everyone's times are on a Best Track 42, BSA rules? Our race is tomorrow and hoping for some good runs. We raised the bar last year with a 2.97777 time, which is the track record. I am hoping our Ladder Car, first ladder racer, will have similar/better times. However wondering how it would race up North with the big boys.

What do you consider BSA rules?? They maybe different depending what area you're from?

Yes, I've helped scouts in different states. Some are permitted oil and some aren't. Some are permitted to lathe wheels and some aren't. Some are permitted bent axles and some aren't.
I think it would depend on your rules.

Rules are 5 oz, use axle slots, all four wheels must roll flat, original axles/wheels and only dry lubricant.

Well Lighting didn't strike twice, only got a 3.02 this year. Still good for the Pack win but was hoping for a Sub 3...

Thanks to the tips of this forum the Graphite lasted until the end. I let early races break the graphite in, so I was faster in the finials than in the first six runs. A gamble but it paid off...
