Hello everyone, I have a couple of questions about the up coming Pinewood derby race in Greensboro, NC.
I have entered in 3 cars that I plan to race. The questions I have are as follows:

Q1.) If you plan to attend the race in person do you still ship your car with the entry fee, just the entry fee, just the car, or bring both on race day?

Q2.) This will be my first race with this group, is the race event kid friendly? I was just wondering because my son is 9 and we just started pinewood derby racing this year at 1 event. He would enjoy watch the cars, but I wanted to make sure it was ok with you guys before just showing up.

Q3.) This will only have been my second event, so do you guys have any friendly advice, or know of what the rough guess on average lap times and length of the track will be?

I may have a couple more questions as race day approaches, but any information would be awesome.

Thanks in advance,
Steven (Zoom SBB)

Hey Zoom...

Question one... If you are racing live, you can bring your cars with you, but you will have to be there by check-in time. Check with John to be sure.
Question two... This is generally adults racing, but I have seen kids there before. You have to maintain them though. This is not going to be a place for them to play and they will probably get bored. They are not allowed to touch the track or any of the cars. If your son is well behaved, it shouldn't be a problem. Again, talk to John though to be certain.
Question three... This track is a 42' aluminum Best Track. The times for the BASX class that run will probably be in the mid 2.95-2.97 range for faster runners, depending on track conditions.

Good luck ! ! !
