Our cub scout pack bought a 35', 4 lane Best Track last year and it is great (our last track was a 2-lane wooden with lights, no timer). My question is: what would be considered fast times on this track? I know that there are variables involved, but just looking for fast times if the track is set up level, straight and correct.

On our track, BSA, graphite only, and four wheels touching, ~2.53 was the fastest.

The angle of the hill, the timer start device, and the position of the lights at the end will all have an effect on the times per track.

Ran ours Saturday finished 1,2,3 in double elimination (talk about lucky). Ran 2.5?? all day.

+1

For all you know the slope angle is different or the surface may have grime or flaws.

But, did he win?

You can't base your effectiveness based on somebody else's car on somebody else's track.

Ahhh, new track - KEEP IT CLEAN. start out clean, clean before you put it away, clean after it is set up but before the next race. The cleaner you keep it, the easier it is to keep clean.
