Took the wheels off to do some work. I would like to reprep them but here is what I'm thinking. Wash with warm soapy water?? Then dry and re-oil?

Thanks

Re Prep = Clean them and do everything you did the first time around +/-. You have to find what works for you. I hate telling you guys this because you're my competition.

I guess I was thinking that the wax foundation was fine and only need to clean dirt and oil out. But I will start from the beginning! Thanks!

Kinser from spread of badges you have , I don't think you'll have to worry about me for awhile!!

Kinser I am trying something new this time good or bad. Building one more car to try one more idea i had. I have a lot of speed to look for,Just hope it's not slower.

I take the wheels off and get a hard bristle brush and really work that in....ya gota get that old wax off before it yellows and gets all weird....now you can put a nice new coat of wax on it.....and don't worry about all that black stuff coming out of the bore....the wax will smooth it over....trust me!

HEHE

LOL in all seriousness though, Ive done both 91% alcohol and soapy water. The concern ive read about alcohol was that even 91% will leave a fine film after it evaporates....but then again soap and water, if you don't wash it out well u can a have a soapy residue....

bottom line is no matter what you choose, make sure you clean out well so no residual stuff is in the bore, however fits you best (without damaging the bore surface) and then prep from the beginning with the wax or whatever polish is your favorite and then oil....

I don't use alcohol on my wheels at all. Soapy warm water. Be careful on what type of soap you use some will remove waxes.

Warm soapy water here. View the bore when you're done. Re-wax as needed. Super smooth bores are a bonus for speed. Lint FREE everything.

Ordered the DVD. I'm tied of experimenting. Need to quickly and cheaply elevate my position on the learning curve...

This is the absolute best plan of action! People should get the basics under themselves before venturing into other territories. There are some exceptions but they're not the rule.
