Well my Basx did much better than I thought. Now time to change over to the new prep and retire the red rocket. Can't wait to try it John. Ps John, tell your Brother it was a pleasure meeting him.

Congrats to all the winners...../images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif

It's absolutely insane that a BASX car can run in the 2.91's.

The National's track is a little faster than the league track. I'm sure someone has a correction factor value that will need to be added to those National times in order to get the league track time equivalents.

Gravity, your post may have very well saved by fledgling Pinewood career, as I was ready to quit after seeing those times.

Now here's hoping the correction value starts with a .045 /images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif

Well, looking at the results ... At least I was ahead of one car (for a moment) and "INVADER" broke 3.0 so I'm awesome /images/boards/smilies/smile.gif

I guess I need to work one the wheels and axels for the next race I can get to. I wonder if less steer would help too? 4" over 4' might be dragging too much ... Opinions?

I would say turn your attentions to:

- Rear Alignment: Hard to overstate the importance of this.

- Wheel prep: You gotta run oil in the pro leagues.

I'm no Pro, but I'm a big proponent of less steer. My fastest car has 24 cubes with 12 behind and 12 directly in front of the rear axle, and it runs best with only 2" over 4'. I don't remember the exact numbers, but with 4" of steer it was something like .020 or more slower.

To me less steer is always better, right up until it's not enough./images/boards/smilies/crazy.gif

Just trying to improve the tune on an existing car. I'll worry about the fancy stuff on the next car.

Yes, I'm thinking I'll dial it back some and just see what happens.

When I end up in a three way tie with Pony Express and Bracketracer in BASX, I consider it a good day.

You did well Nate, but I will point out that you tied my slower car........lol
