Revell axles or BSA?

I am helping a friend from work and his daughter build a car for her powderpuff derby. I have an extra set of basx wheels I am going to let her use but don't have an extra set of axles I can give up. I have a set of Revell axles that are polished with the DD4H kit that I was going to use. Would you go with them or file and polish a set of BSA axles? I've never used the revell axles but they look like they polished up pretty good and they seem to be fairly straight. I was just wondering if anyone knew how they would perform VS. the BSA. Thanks

They are thinner but I've used them in the past. Just a warning if you're drilling your holes. Performance is the same as a well prepped BSA axle.

I have read elsewhere that they are 0.93 vs BSA axles at 0.89. I have not measured them with a caliper to judge that myself. I did push some into a block earlier this week to mount wheels, that I had previously pushed BSA axles into when checking wheel to fender clearance. The Revell axles were harder to push in and seemed to fit more snugly in general. The wheel bore carrying portion of the axle had been wet sanded in increments from 2k to 12k grit, followed by Brasso. I don't doubt that a well prepped prepped axle of either type can both be straight and well polished, but that the Revell axles don't have burrs or crimp marks would seem like a cleaner starting point to me.

I just measured a BSA axle and a Revel axle. The Revel Axle measured .0870. The BSA axle measured .o895.

Revel axles will be easier to prep since you will not don't have to clean up the crimp marks. Also if you use Revel axles, you might want to make sure your axle hole is the correct diameter to fit the Revel axle snuggly.

I have tested cars with both axles. I can build faster cars with BSA axles.
