I have seen a number of photos with wheels revered on the axle so the inner hub which normally points toward the car body is pointing outward toward the axel head.

What are the use cases for this configuration?

Thanks, that makes sense. My son's pack rules do not allow wheel weight reduction, so I will not mess with this.

A wheel that is lightened so much that it needs to ride on the solid side wall is the only one that needs to be ran reversed.

Can someone point me to a good tutorial on this , i would like to run my rear wheels reversed but am nervous about not having spacers or knowing if they are allowed in my race this week

If you do not have spacers, you can not run the wheels reversed. Besides, it would be easier to address the aero concerns in the rear with wheels running in the normal configuration. If you run reversed, you'll mostly like want the kit GX has for sale.

Here are some threads from the "search" function regarding the use of spacers:

Why is it that some Packs insist on removing the learning aspect of this event? Boys best learn by doing, and by not doing, they're robbing the boys of learning as much as they can. And since we started by removing weight using an old kitchen knife, I'm pretty sure anyone can do it....
